An exciting task and a perfect example of how versatile 3D printing can be.
Nordjyske Jernbaner, which operates railway traffic in large parts of North Jutland, faced a challenge: they wanted to install a new screen in the driver's cabs to improve timetable display in their trains, but the complex shape of the dashboard made it difficult to find a suitable solution.
Normally, a bracket would be CNC milled, which is time-consuming, expensive, and results in material waste.â
With 3D scanning, we could quickly and precisely model the double-curved surface. Then, the parts were 3D printed in flame-retardant PC/ABS plastic, which complies with the strict fire safety standards for passenger trains.âď¸

Using 3D printing and scanning, we were able to:
â
Efficiently scan the dashboard without disrupting operations.
â
Quickly produce and test a prototype for optimal fit and function.
â
Deliver a robust and certified solution in fire-resistant materials.
We are proud to collaborate with innovative companies like Nordjyske Jernbaner and deliver customized, effective solutions that meet their specific needs.
